Though the start of golf is connected with Scotland, historians have deemed ancient descriptions of golf are noted in history as far back as the Roman Empire. Golf also was seen in large numbers of other regions, like the Holland. From its start, golf was a sport with rigid clothing - no jersey wholesalers needed for this increasing sport.
The 1st golf club in the world was founded in Scotland – the Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers, in 1744. The club prescribed the first regulations of the sport. About 10 years after that, the Royal and Ancient Golf Club in St. Andrews turned the official governing organ for the golf. Though there are accounts of golf near this time in the American colonies, the 1st golf club in North America actually formed in Canada in Montreal in 1873. Golf clubs opened later in Unite States and the United States Golf Association was soon founded. The USGA and the Royal and Ancient are now the greatest ruling outfits in the world of golf.
